The Seoul World Cup Stadium, with an approximate seating of 65,000, is by far the largest stadium in Asia. Here, fans and spectators will be able to get as close to their heroes as possible, with the seating space just a mere 11 meters away from the touchline and 17 meters from the goal line! Altogether, there are 102 large gates for entrance/exit therefore, huge crowds can come and go in like 8 minutes flat!
Here we are, a group of tourists admiring the Seoul World Cup Stadium and taking snapshots of this historical place! Seating is good with plenty of legroom. The stadium is built in an octagonal shape, which resembles a traditional Korean tray. The Korean tray reflects the richness of Korea?s culture, history and hope. The way an octagonal plate is overlaid with a Korean traditional tray brings about the meaning of hospitality, courtesy and care.
Here, you can see partial of the roof of the Seoul World Cup Stadium, which is shaped like a gigantic rectangular shield. This rectangular shield is built to resemble that of a traditional Korean kite. In Korea, kite symbolizes the spirit and culture of the country ? the intensity and hope of the Koreans to see their country unite as one and to attain world peace. If you look closely, you can see the pillars that support the roof. This brings about another meaning. The pillars are made to look like masts of sailing crafts known as Hwangpo Dotbae</i.. The Hwangpo Dotbae used to ply the Hangang River.

A story told with photos.
