The American Experience, Vietnam. The Vietnam War was the longest and most unpopular war in which Americans ever fought. Most Americans, however, know this fact. This PBS special gives the real story behind the news headlines and the memories of the soldiers that were there.

Vietnam National Administration of Vietnam. Government-run tourism site offering country and cultural information for the would-be traveler.

Vietnam Yesterday and Today. Nearly three decades since the end of the war, Americans, their allies, and the Vietnamese still see and feel its effects. This site hopes to educate students and teachers about this war in order to understand not only the American perspective, but the Vietnamese's conflict as well. Site offers many suggested resources. Other highlights include a timeline, journals, discussions, and many images.

Vietnam Picture Archives. This site is full of archives which consist of JPEGs and GIFs, MIDI sequences and RealAudio clips, distributed among the following categories poetry, history, people, scenery, and others.

The Wars for Vietnam. This site, developed around the course materials for Robert Brigham's senior seminar on the Viet Nam War at Vassar College, offers students an opportunity to examine some of those sources, including numerous official documents. There are many highlights here, which include documents and images, for both teacher and student.

Vietnam News. Major news site specializing in Vietnam news. Coverage includes politics, economics, business, social affairs, and sports.

Vietnam Country Studies. Well-researched site offering categories full of information, which include a "Chronology of Important Events," "Geography," "Historical Settings," and other categories.

Women in Vietnam. This site is dedicated to the women of Vietnam, those that served in the war as volunteers, whether civilian or military. Site includes photo tours, health stuff, books, and help for students.

Vietnam Daily. Oldest and largest Vietnamese newspaper in California.

Vietnam Online. Site for all things practical involving Vietnam. Find a job, read trade information, and use the product locator.

The National Assembly of Vietnam. Site for and about Vietnam's National Assembly, its agencies, and its members. Typical government information can be found including lots of useful information for anyone doing business or considering the move to Vietnam.

Vietnam Combat Art. Site which focuses on Vietnamese sketch art. Artists include combat artist Jim Pollock, whose work is profiled. Other artists include the U. S. Army Combat Art Team IV (Samuel Alexander, Burdell Moody, Daniel Lopez and Ronald Wilson). There is much art here to see as well as articles to read and other info.

Vietnam: A Children's Guide. Site developed by a second grade class that has done much research on the country. The site is very useful for educating children about the country. Highlights include picture books, quizzes, and study guides.

Free Vietnam Alliance. Free Vietnam Alliance is an organization that works to encourage peaceful changes in Vietnam. Specifically, this group puts endless pressure upon the Hanoi government to bring about change. The site offers info on current projects, suggestions on how to help, and useful information about the country.

Vietnam Globe. News site run by the World News Network.

The Vietnam Experience. A web site that shares the emotional and spiritual experiences of the Vietnam War through poetry, stories, and photos by combat veterans. Site offers charity links, personal stories, photos, as well as many photos and newsletters.

Vietnamese Buddhism. The web site gives the varied history of Buddhist religion in Vietnam. Primarily designed for educators, it is also useful for students who want to study this very influential religion. Highlights include a history, particular practices, as well as useful terms that are defined.

Vietnam Tourism. Complete Vietnam information site that offers information that ranges from crafts to investment information like laws and state policies as well as consumer price indexes and trade information.

ANU Vietnam WWW VL A list of main web sites for Vietnam maintained by Vern Weitzel of Australian National University. Part of the ANU Asian Studies WWW Virtual Library.
