Constructed in the late 10th century, Ta Keo is a towering, plainly decorated temple-mountain dedicated to Shiva. Known as "the Mountain of the Golden Summit", it is the first temple to be constructed wholly of sandstone.
Angkor
When it's full, the Tonle Sap lake covers an area of ten thousand square kilometers, making it the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Sunset on the lake is a good break from spending time at the temples. Be sure to bring a picnic basket.
